Biden on Monday warned Americans they may need another shot to protect them from the Omicron variant of COVID-19 as he outlined the measures his administration was taking to respond to the threat.
Professor Karl Lauterbach, a clinical epidemiologist, said early reports from South Africa that Omicron causes mild illness could make it a Christmas gift and may even speed up the end of the pandemic.
