Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the Abagana camp have blocked the Markurdi-Lafia Federal Highway protesting the recent killings by herdsmen and laying the corpses of the victims
on the road.
The suspected herdsmen on Tuesday morning invaded Abagana IDP camp killing seven persons and injuring about 15 of them.
According to an eyewitness account present at the protest, the armed herdsmen stormed the IDP camp and started shooting at the people killing seven and leaving many others injured.

The eyewitness warned that they will resort to arms to defend themselves if the Federal Government does not intervene.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu has asked the Federal Government to seek foreign help to fight insecurity in the country.
The Senator stated this on Tuesday during plenary in response to a motion by Senator Sani Musa on the activities of bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in Shiroro and Rafi Local Government Areas of Niger State.
Senator Ekweremadu said any government that fails to protect its citizens has lost its legitimacy, therefore the Federal Government should not be ashamed to seek foreign support.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked United States to reconsider relocating US Africa Command (AFRICOM) from Stuttgart, Germany, to Africa, so it can support Nigeria in tackling the insecurity challenges facing the country.
The President stated this on Tuesday during a virtual meeting with the US Secretary of State, Mr. Anthony Blinken.
President Buhari said AFRICOM, which partners with countries to counter transnational threats, should be relocated to Africa to strengthen ongoing efforts to check the security situation, with likely effect on other nations.
