Covid-19: Getting too close to 7,000

MALAYSIA is getting eerily close to the 7,000 mark for daily new Covid-19 cases with 6,976 cases reported yesterday, taking the country’s cumulative total to 512,091.Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor was again on top of the list with 2,235 new cases. This was followed by Sarawak with 663 cases, Kelantan (626) and Johor (549).Other states recording high cases included Kuala Lumpur (KL) (447), Negri Sembilan (434) and Kedah (422).

New record of 21,668 infections

MALAYSIA reached a new high of 21,668 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, breaking Aug 5’s record of 20,889.This brought the country’s cumulative cases to 1.34 million, of which 237,021 are active cases with 1,059 in intensive care units and 543 patients requiring respiratory assistance.In his statement yesterday, Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a total of 318 deaths were recorded with 93 brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Face mask ceiling price at RM1.20 from Aug 15

Menara City One in KL under lockdown
