Senate Should Restore TIA Funding

A rider on the Senate 2004 Defense Appropriations bill cuts off allfunding for the research and development of the Terrorism Information Awareness (TIA) program -- potentially a valuable toolin combating terrorism - before research is completed. Congressneeds to consider TIA in depth, and the Senate should restorefunding. Anything less demonstrates little commitment to combatingthe threat of terrorism is nothing more than an abdication ofresponsibility.
