In a historic proclamation, the TTD has claimed that ‘Jabali’ nestled on the Anjanadri Hills that form a part of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara as the original birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
In a formal declaration on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor of National Sanskrit University Muralidhar Sharma said that the TTD had arrived at the conclusion “after taking all the historical, geographical and epigraphical evidences into consideration.”

With slow and steady rise in pilgrim footfall, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is actively considering resuming preparation and distribution of snacks and food (Anna Prasadam) to the devotees arriving at Tirumala and restore the same to the previous level.
At a review meeting here on Thursday, TTD Executive Officer K.S. Jawahar Reddy directed the departments concerned to gear up to provide food in the Pilgrim Amenities Complexes (I and II) and Vaikuntham Queue Complex – II, to meet the rising numbers and in tune with the relaxation in COVID-19 guidelines. He asked the officials to retain sufficient stock of food materials in the kitchens at the VQC as well as Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam Bhavan, the mammoth dining hall at Tirumala.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer K.S. Jawahar Reddy has said that 4.26 lakh pilgrims were provided darshan through the ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ for 10 days by duly following COVID-19 protocol.
Speaking after unfurling the tricolour at the Republic Day celebrations here on Tuesday, he said the decision to keep the much-revered threshold open for 10 days for the first time ever was taken after consulting 26 Peethadipathis and implemented during December 25 to January 3.
“The TTD could successfully overcome COVID crisis and the lockdown with team effort from the strong workforce. The ‘nitya kainkaryams’ were performed by the dedicated religious staff in ekantam (in private) without any deviation of the Agamic rules, under the supervision of Tirumala Jeeyangar Swamijis. The institution won accolades for this team effort,” Dr. Reddy observed.
