News update: Eskom has announced the successful synchronisation of Unit 1 at the Koeberg Power Station with the grid on Saturday.

A truck driver has been arrested for selling Eskom fuel oil worth half a million for R40 000.

Phumla Johan Hadebe, a driver for a company contracted by Eskom to deliver heavy fuel oil to Camden power station in Mpumalanga, is accused of diverting and selling oil worth R500,000 for R40,000 'and pocketing the money for his benefit'.

In September this year, nine people were arrested for theft of coal and fraud at Eskom's Kusile Power Station.
