Jeep Gladiator Rubicon
Long-Term Test
There has arguably never been better cause to explore our own backyard on four wheels. With ongoing travel restrictions at an international level, the option to hit the highway and head for areas less-touched in Australia is highly appealing. At least, that was the thinking behind our Jeep Gladiator Rubicon long-termer as we discover what it’s like to live with and consider why more people aren’t driving it out of showrooms on their way to tackle the great outdoors.

Oversized and over here: it’s hard to escape the unapologetic US undertones of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon.
Cheaper Jeep Gladiator arrives
New Sport S entry-level variant lowers admission price of Jeep’s dual-cab 4x4 ute by $10,000
Jeep has made good on its promise to introduce a more affordable version of the Jeep Gladiator in Australia, releasing a Sport S version priced at $65,450 plus on-road costs.
Even before the US off-road brand had officially launched its all-new 4×4 dual-cab ute in Australia, local execs were promising that the range would be bolstered by a Jeep Gladiator Sport S range-opener priced some $10K cheaper than the Overland that, until now, started proceedings at $75,450 plus ORCs.
And so it has, with the 2021 Jeep Gladiator range now bookended by the Sport S and the Rubicon, which starts at $76,450 plus ORCs. The previous Launch Edition (from $86,450) has run its course.
