Both Colchester and neighboring East Haddam are seeking delayed approval for operating budgets for the fiscal year that began July 1, after their initial referendums failed last month. The vote will not include the question of $48.1 million in school funding. Voters approved the Board of Education budget by a margin of three votes during the June referendum, so that portion of the town’s budget was left unchanged.
