Dog owners warned after 'potentially deadly' substance found on Sussex beaches

DOG owners have been warned to beware of a potentially fatal substance which has washed up on beaches. Coastguard teams in Selsey received reports of the substance having washed up on beaches in the area on Saturday. Pictures show the waxy, white lumps that were found, and previous sightings of similar substances have been named as palm oil deposits. Explosive ordnance found on Medmerry Beach destroyed

A MYSTERY ordnance discovered on a beach that was found to be “highly explosive” has been destroyed by experts. Multiple pieces of the explosive ordnance were found on Medmerry beach following a search by Selsey Coastguard on Sunday. Photos taken by the team were sent to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team who blew up the object, destroying it. The beach was reopened to the public following the controlled explosion.
