If Mullan Trail Elementary School fifth grader Tori Best could have a dream come true, it would be for the world to be rid of drugs and the harm they cause to users and their loved ones.
"If you are a friend, you can help get your friend into a program or treatment. This can make the world a better place," she said. "Drugs are a thief."
The smile on Kaeleb Giovanelli's face was as bright as his red shirt as he went for a leisurely ride on the back of Red, an American quarter horse, led by volunteer Gracie Mobbs.
It was his first time riding a horse.
"It was amazing! It was fun!" the enthusiastic new equestrian said when he stepped off the horse.
The Boys & Girls Club Jordan Johnson Clubhouse in Post Falls is growing up.
A $1.7 million campaign is underway to expand the presently 10,000-square-foot club to give the decade-old building an upgrade and provide more space for more members.
