MSX index ends marginally higher By: United Securities Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,965.50 points, up 0.84 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.12 per cent at 565.37 points. Oman Cables Industry, up 7.39 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Hassan Engineering, down 16.67 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of United Finance were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 1,195 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3.4 million, with more than 27 million shares changing hands.

The Sharia Index ended down 0.32 per cent at 537.38 points. National Gas, up 6.25 per cent, was the top gainer while Taageer Finance, down 2.70 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Sharqiya Investment were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Al Anwar Ceramic was the most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 867 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.6 million, with more than 15.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 56 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 15 declined and 29 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR487,000 while local investors were net sellers for OMR373,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR114,000 worth of shares.

Oman s share index ends marginally lower By: United Securities Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,666.95 points, down 0.45 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.41 per cent at 523.90 points. Oman Cables Industry, up 9.26 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman National Engineering, down 5.62 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded. A total number of 970 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3.38 million, with more than 22.28 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 12 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR233,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR206,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR27,000 worth of shares.
