Aaditya Thackeray, leader of the Uddhav Thackeray-led camp of the Shiv Sena, on Friday slammed the Eknath Shinde-helmed Maharashtra government, saying that there is anger among people the way his party candidate Rutuja Latke was troubled.

The Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions of the Shiv Sena have formally submitted to the Election Commission three symbols and names each after the partys bow and arrow symbol was frozen by the poll panel.

The programme comprises a series of rallies across the state to garner support of the people and highlight their issues and also boost the spirit of workers.

The Election Commission froze the Shiv Sena name and its 'bow and arrow' symbol on October 8 as the Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions battle to establish their legitimacy.

EC, in an interim order, had asked both the fractions to suggest by Monday three different name choices. Uddhav Thackeray-led faction has submitted its three options of a trident, rising sun or mashaal today to the commission. 

The EC froze Shiv Senas bow and arrow symbol and asked Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray camps of the party to choose a new symbol.

ECs directive to the Thackeray faction came on Friday, when the Shinde faction submitted a memorandum seeking allocation of the bow and arrow election symbol as the Andheri East assembly bypoll approaches.
