Hassan, Shaheen Vote Down Ban On Discrimination Against Asian Students

New Hampshire Sens. Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen voted down an amendment to the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act that would have defunded colleges and universities that discriminate against Asian American applicants. The amendment, proposed by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Kennedy (R-La.) was just one sentence long. It said no college may receive any Federal funding if the institution has a policy in place or engages in a practice that discriminates against Asian Americans in recruitment, applicant review, or admissions. Letter: H R 1 must be rejected

Letter: H.R. 1 must be rejected Published: 4/6/2021 7:44:15 AM This voting rights bill must be rejected by Senators Hassan and Shaheen. This is a politically biased bill that favors the ability to have Democrats to control the federal government. Some politicians try to justify voting for H.R. 1 by saying it prohibits voter suppression. This voter suppression argument is not true. The issue is about voter integrity which H.R. 1 bill weakens. The founders of our nation looked at all of the different forms of government in history. The founders had one driving goal: to make sure that America would never again be controlled by a federal government with absolute power over states. H.R. 1 takes away the right of legislating voting rules by states. This is exactly the danger our founders wanted to protect us from.
