Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) today, May 4, organized a discussion with members of Mongolia’s Parliament, or State Great Khural, on ways to increase citizen engagement in the political process. The event is the latest in a series of workshops on legislative transparency taking place under USAID’s Strengthening Women and Youth Engagement in the Electoral and Political Processes in Mongolia (SWYEEPPM) program.
The discussion focused on ways to utilize both traditional media and new digital platforms to engage constituents, as well as best practices and lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaker G. Zandanshatar opened the forum, and former U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte provided the keynote address.
