suggestion whatsoever that the president did anything wrong, committed any crimes or certainly had any contact with russians. a lot of hype, a lot of sound, a lot of noise, a lot of drama, but no substance in terms of the president of the united states. pete: well said. it was a sentencing document for former trump lawyer michael cohen. is he going to spend time in jail based on what the special counsel is seeking. i read that document this morning on the wes the way. in here is a portion of the cohen sentencing filing. the defendant, michael cohen recalled that a russian national repeatedly proposed a meeting between individual number one which is known to be donald trump and the president of russia. the person told co-than such a meeting would have phenomenal impact not only in politics but in the business dimension as well. cohen, however, did not follow up on this invitation. ed: he didn t follow up on that invite. remember, that the previous bombshell we had heard about a week or
trump tried to get out ahead of it between 6:00 and 10:00 a.m. this morning with a fuselage on twitter. individual one is how our president is referred to in court documents. mueller filed a sentencing document that indicated cohen has met with the special counsel seven times and has provided relevant and truthful information. cohen told mueller about his own contacts with russia interests during the campaign and discussions with others making those contacts. he also provided information about attempts by other russian nationals to reach the campaign. and said in november, 2015, he received the contact information for and spoke with a russian national who claimed to be a trusted person in the russian federation who could offer the campaign political synergy and synergy on a government level. this person repeatedly proposed a meeting between individual one our president and the president of russia.
mueller also filing a sentencing document that indicated cohen provided relevant and truthful information about russian attempts to contact the trump campaign during t campaign during the election. and filings on former trump adviser, paul manafort. mueller s team accusing manafort about lying about his business dealings that were linked to russian intelligence and a second filing from mueller against manafort. that one remains sealed. this afternoon, president trump did weigh in on the two government filings against his former lawyer, and fixer, michael cohen. this is what he said. no, no, no. i think it s all turning around very nicely. but as far as the report that we see, according to everybody i ve spoken to, i have not read it. there s absolutely no collusion. and that s where we re going to start this hour. i ve got an all star panel help us dig in what we re learning
