SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A sepoy was martyred during a gunfight with terrorists in South Waziristan tribal district on Sunday, the military’s media affairs wing said. Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Senai Narai area of South Waziristan tribal district on the reported presence of terrorists, said the Inter-Services Public Relations. During an intense exchange of fire with the terrorists, Sepoy Junaid embraced martyrdom. The 20-year-old soldier was a resident of Balakot in Mansehra district. Cordon and search operation was in progress to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured when a landmine planted on the road went off in the Barwand area, police said.
