Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police is asking the community for donations of horses to support its mounted patrol unit.
The department maintains a stable at its training academy in Hershey and relies on donations to fill a complement of 28 horses. The animals are deployed statewide for searches, crowd control, security, and patrol of remote areas. They also participate in parades, demonstrations, and other community events.
Since 2015, horse owners from across the Pennsylvania have donated 12 horses to the state mounted patrol unit.

Leonard Quattlebaum and William Hawkins are both accused in the incident on the 100-block of South Second Street Friday night. The 29-year-old Quattlebaum and his 20-year-old accomplice decided to rob a third man during a marijuana buy. It’s reported the gun used in the robbery was stolen from Swatara Township. The two are in Dauphin County Prison on 100-thousand-dollars bail.

(Harrisburg, PA) The Pennsylvania State Police is seeking horse donations to support its mounted patrol unit. State Police asked the community to help in donating horses yesterday in a press release. The horses must be geldings between the ages of five and 15. Police say they are mostly interested in draft and draft-crossed breeds. Anyone who wants to donate is being asked to contact Sergeant Carrie A. Neidigh.
