DETECTIVES say a man in hospital after a Greenock disturbance suffered horrific injuries in a brutal bottle attack and will undergo surgery today. Police say the 42-year-old victim was found lying in Holmscroft Avenue with a gaping wound in his left arm and punctures all over his body. Local people came to his aid before emergency crews rushed to the scene and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A TEENAGER was rushed to hospital after being stabbed during a mass disturbance last night. The 15-year-old boy was set upon in the fields close to Earnhill Road in Greenock at around 8pm. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and remains there this morning. He is due to be discharged later, as Greenock CID meanwhile investigate the stabbing.
