The Oregon state medical examiner determined that 17-year-old Sergio Hunt died of homicidal violence, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau. Portland police, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help in solving the homicide.

Updated: 11:56 AM PDT May 27, 2021 PORTLAND, Ore. Police are investigating the homicide of a 17-year-old boy on Sunday in Northeast Portland and asking the public to come forward with any information they have about the crime. Police received a report of a dead body in the street at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Officers responded to the 14300 block of Northeast Milton Street, near Argay City Park, and found the body of the victim, whom police identified as Sergio Hunt. Officers believed Hunt had been the victim of a hit-and-run crash and the traffic division s Major Crash Team was called out to the scene to investigate. After the discovery of what police called suspicious circumstances, homicide detectives were called out to investigate. Following an autopsy, the medical examiner determined the cause of death was homicide.

May 27 2021 UPDATE: Victim identified as 17-year-old, and police are asking the public to help identify the suspect. Police have identified the victim in what was originally thought to be a fatal hit-and-run crash in Northeast Portland early Saturday. The victim is Sergio Hunt, 17. The Oregon State Medical Examiner has determined the cause of his death was from homicidal violence and the manner of death was homicide. No suspect infortmation has been released. According to police, the investigation began at 6:30 a.m. May 23, when North Precinct officers responded to the 14300 block of Northeast Milton Street and found an adult male dead in the street.
