Lee Uglem, age 70, passed away October 8, 2023 at home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with advanced prostate cancer. He was born and raised in Robbinsdale, moving to Deerwood at age four with his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Uglem. Lee served in the US Navy and sold real estate with his dad at Uglem Realty. He worked as a clerk/carrier for the United States Postal Service in Brainerd for over thirty years. Lee married Ellen Guy on September 30th, 1978 in Big Sky, Montana. His pride and joy were his daughters, Kelly and Sarah, and his four grandchildren. Lee loved to hunt ducks, geese and deer, and he loved all kinds of fishing. Lee founded the Cuyuna Range Ducks Unlimited chapter in the early 1980’s. He was a terrific golfer, and a life-long member of Cuyuna Country Club/Cuyuna Rolling Hills. Lee served as president of the Serpent Lake Association, and worked diligently to improve the water quality of the lake and maintain the lake’s buoys. Lee is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters Kelly (Neal) Erickson; Sarah (Aaron) Jax; grandchildren Kate and Evan Jax, Lewis and Miles Erickson; brothers Dean (Jean) Uglem, Deerwood, and Wayne Uglem, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Dorothy, brothers Roger and Steve, and sister-in-law, Linda Uglem.
