Joining us i am heather homes. Hello, i am ken wayne. Six people were killed as the train was passing over a bridge in dupont county. Reporter it was the first day of the new route and the speed was at question. Some say the speed was in the 70s and some say it was as high as 81 miles per hour. The train which looks like this amtrak cascade was traveling southbound at 70 miles per hour. It was carrying 78 passengers and five crew members when one witness said that the train started to wobble and started to go off of the track onto interstate 5. Multiple cars in trucks were struck by the train cars that went down to the road. When you see the pictures, it is pretty horrific, at this point, nobody in any of the vehicles are dead.
