Alberto first came to San Francisco from mexico as a chemistry student at San Francisco state. After college, he returned to mexico, h. Which is when he met his wife. He was on vacation in veracruz and she was there helping her mother run a restaurant. Together they moved back to San Francisco in 1981 to start their life together and they spent a beloved fixture on union street ever since.
