ROCHESTER, Minn.-The Historic Preservation Commission discussed the requirements for landmark designation for the old fire hall clock and bell.

Karl Sorenson recently donated a vintage clock from the old Gaylord Hotel, which burned down in the mid-1920s. The hotel was a landmark on Nucleus Avenue prior to the fire.

Ocean City leaders voted Thursday night to replace the analog clock on the boardwalk at the Ninth Street entrance, between Manco & Manco Pizza and Shrivers Salt Water Taffy & Fudge. The replacement will cost the city $30,944. The existing clock is no longer consistently displaying the correct time and has appearance issues, city officials said.
