this is a huge week when it come to setting priorities for your government and spending your tax dollars. sadly this might be too much to ask. what they re looking for me is the same from speaker boehner and harry reid and everybody else. that we act like grown-ups. the most pressing issue is the threat of a friday government shutdown. house republicans offered another one-week temporary extension with this twist. they stay pentagon would get six months of money to remove the military from the budget brinksmanship. the president says no deal. he wants to settle the next six months in one deal and he wants to do hit the week. then comes the bigger issue. house republicans today unveiled their next speck plan. that s confusing. it ends in october. and the cuts guarantee current short-term budget fight will
here. we re doing this so we can create an environment for the private sector to grow. a lot of goals around washington but we need to start setting priorities and being honest with the people. i want to point out that npr and radio stations are saying that the elimination of federal funding for public broadcastk would be damaging to the services they provide in rural america, on indian reservations. as you say it s a very small percentage of their budget. again, i would resort back to the statement, we have got to start pry ortizing and learning how to do more with less just as every american is having to do under the very tough economic times. we have seen consistently that
