CROMWELL While the pandemic has upset many aspects of residents’ lives, there is an area that has maintained a regular and steady pace here: People paying their town taxes.
“We’re not that far behind where we should be,” Tax Collector Douglas Sienna said.
Payments “have been coming in at a slower rate and over a longer period,” due in large to a three-month extension on paying the July 1 taxes, Sienna said.
“Our taxpayers have been conscientious about it,” he said. “We were a little behind, but now we’ve caught up.”
