The Seymour Marine Discovery Center recently completed a redesigned exhibit space with a focus on interactive experiences that feature stories of local climate resilience.
The Seymour Marine Discovery Center announced that the aging metal structures that support the blue whale skeleton on display outside of the center, known as “Ms. Blue,” are unsafe and will be dismantled, and the skeleton lowered to the ground. An event celebrating the history of the skeleton is scheduled early next month.
"Our ongoing exploration of garden ideas intersects today with these concepts: fall planting season, lawn replacement, drought tolerance and native plants," writes Tom Karwin. "These thoughts come together in a timely event this weekend: the fall plant sale of the Santa Cruz County Chapter of the California Native Plant Society."
