Explosions shook Sudan's capital Tuesday evening despite claims of a ceasefire on the fourth day of fighting that has killed nearly 200. A weeks-long power struggle erupted into battles Saturday between the forces of two generals who seized power in a 2021 coup: army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The meeting is open and members of the public are welcome to attend as observers.

Sudans army and paramilitary forces have been carrying out airstrikes and firing in several cities of Sudan including Sudans capital Khartoum and Omdurman.

Fighting continued in Sudan as forces loyal to duelling generals fought for strategic positions in the city and accused one another of breaking the ceasefire hours after an internationally mediated ceasefire was scheduled to take effect.

Sudanese residents say they're running out of supplies as heavy gunfire shatters plans for a ceasefire in the capital Khartoum.

By 1600 GMT, the time of the supposed start to the ceasefire, gunfire could still be heard throughout Khartoum.
