Phoenix and other Arizona cities received millions to expand urban forestry and shade equity last year. How will planners decide where to plant trees?

Some Phoenix residents are pushing city leaders to do more to add trees and shade. Phoenix is partnering with the nation’s oldest conservation nonprofit to achieve what the group calls “tree equity” by 2030.
