Is this the best itinerary for a Sydney staycation? 15 April 2021 . BY Eliza Sholly
Home to the 29 groups of the Eora Nation, the most populous city in Australia has a lot more to offer than just ocean air, ferries and an old arched bridge.
Sydneysiders are considered some of the luckiest humans in the world. The city, established on Gadigal land, is brimming with opportunity and the allure of a vibrant metropolis offering up a new experience to be discovered each day – and after the year that was, there has never been a better time to stay here and enjoy it.

Dozens of Sydney’s best bars – including PS40, Bulletin Place, Cantina Ok!, Four Pillars Lab and Continental Deli – are pooling their tips together for one night and donating them to provide rural Ugandan communities with access to clean drinking water.
Mitch Horrocks left hospitality to help make clean water and sanitation safe and accessible to everyone across Uganda. And to do that, he s turning to mates across Sydney s bar and restaurant scene.
For one night only, dozens of the city s best bars are donating all of their tips to Horrocks s 663tozero, which produces water sanitation tech (employing local Ugandans to do it) and distributes them to rural communities all over the country.
These are unusual times, and the state of affairs can change quickly. Please check the latest travel guidance before making your journey. Note that our writer visited pre-pandemic.
Sydney is known for its beaches and natural beauty, but the city stays alive long after the sun goes down. Whether itâs a 2am pizza and rock n roll at Frankieâs, getting dressed up for a night at the Sydney Opera House, beer and beats at Bondiâs Beach Road Hotel, or a hit of hedonism at the Pool Club, Sydneyâs nightlife is as colourful and diverse as the city itself.
