DHAKA, March 1, 2021 (BSS) – Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswami today said Bangladesh media is vibrant, free, colorful and very vocal.
“Media in Bangladesh is our (India) important partner in many senses,” he made the remark while inaugurating the renovated Media Centre at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the capital.
The envoy said New Delhi emphasis on ensuring best possible understanding between India and Bangladesh.
Doraiswami said the friendship of Bangladesh and India was founded in 1971 and the partnership between the two countries is going forward.
“Your (media) role is very important (in this regards) and India always place great attention to Bangladesh media,” he said.

HC grants 1-year bail to rape case convict after he marries victim Star Online Report Star Online Report
The High Court today granted one year bail to Dilip Khalko, a convict of a rape case, as he married the victim at Rajshahi jail gate in line with its conditional directive.
In the order, the HC said the bail of Dilip Khalko shall be cancelled if he denies the victim as his wife during their conjugal and family life, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Sarwar Hossain Bappi told The Daily Star.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman came up with the order after examining the documents sent by the Rajshahi jail authorities, saying that Dilip Khalko has married the victim on December 5, the DAG added.
