Industry-academia linkages crucial to create new jobs for youth: Swati Minister emphasizes need to engage more young graduates in public sector organizations

Federal Minister for Railways, Azam Khan Swati on Monday said strong industry-academia linkages are crucial for providing jobs to graduates and internship opportunities to students to get hands-on experience in their respective fields.
He was speaking at the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) held here with a view to facilitate the Ministry of Railways in hiring human resources from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) through Tech Valley Private Limited.
The federal minister also emphasized the need to engage more young graduates in public sector organizations, which, he hoped, would bode well for the performance of government organizations.
RCCI Organizes Digital Transformation Conference Vision 2025
The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized “Digital Transformation Conference vision 2025,” aimed to highlight the key challenges faced by the industry to transform traditional solutions to digital platforms.
The conference also provided an opportunity to discuss industrial automation trends worldwide, automation requirements for an existing industry, Digitalization and export competitiveness and digitalization requirements for small and cottage industry of the country, and impact on employment opportunities.
President RCCI, Mohammad Nasir Mirza, Group Leader, Sohail Altaf, Former Presidents, Senior Vice President, Osman Ashraf, Vice President, Shahraiz A Malik, executive committee members, and a large number of members attended the conference.
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has launched a beautification project worth Rs325 million.
The ‘Shining Saddar’ project’s details were shared with members of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) by the RCB officials at a briefing at the RCCI offices.
Station Commander and Cantonment Board President Brigadier Ijaz Qamar Kayani, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Umar Farooq and Chaklala Cantonment Board CEO Wasim Shahid attended the meeting.
Group leader Sohail Altaf, RCCI senior vice president Usman Ashraf, vice president Shahraiz A. Malik, former presidents Shamail Dawood, Asad Mashhadi, members of the executive committee, representatives of Anjuman-i-Tajiran and chamber members were also present.
