MALIBU, CA Tempers are likely to run high at Monday night s Malibu Council meeting. In addition to debating an ethics reform proposal co-sponsored by new Councilmembers Bruce Silverstein and Steve Uhring, the Council will also debate two recent additions to the City Council Agenda focused on councilmembers ability to request information from city staff.
City Manager Reva Feldman prepared a report asking for the Council to provide guidance on the amount of time per week that the City Manager should prioritize on requests from one Councilmember. Feldman refers to specifically to Silverstein, whom she says is taking up inordinate amounts of staff time with immediate demands for information requests. According to Feldman, Silverstein has made 26 Public Records Act information requests that total

BEDFORD, MA The Bedford flag was one of dozens spotted on Capitol Hill during the riots that left five dead and dozens arrested. The gathering turned and ended in a violent riot after pro-Trump extremists breached and desecrated the U.S. Capitol. The riot left five dead, dozens arrested and a delayed electoral count that eventually certified Joe Biden as the President-elect. D.C. police issued a 6 p.m. curfew on Jan. 6 but many rioters stayed well past 6 p.m.

CULVER CITY, CA West Basin Municipal Water District announced its 2021 Water Is Life art contest is now open for Culver City student submissions.
The annual art contest from West Basin recognizes student creativity and innovation throughout its service area. Student artists help inspire their communities to support water conservation as a way of life by creating thought-provoking water-smart pieces of art. Submissions are due via regular mail or email by March 19. We encourage 3rd-12th grade students in our local schools to participate in this year s West Basin art contest, West Basin Board President Gloria D. Gray said in a news release. Last year, we received about 500 creative entries from students, and we hope to see those numbers go up this year with the added flexibility to submit artwork electronically or through the mail.
