Lili and Dave Wenzel launched Share My Pet in 2018 to help connect people unable to own pets with pet-owners. Since then, over 2000 people have signed up around the country to share their pets. The Wenzels started Share My Pet in Nelson in 2018 as a way to build community connections and let people unable to own pets, such as renters, students, or the elderly, to spend quality time with other people’s pets. It has since spread to other parts of the country, particularly in Auckland and Wellington.
