Ron was born to Al and Maryann Balster in Wilmont on June 3rd 1941 along with his six younger siblings, Betty, Marlene, Elaine,Tom, Jean and Ken. He passed on March 11th, 2021.
Ron married his wife Sharon Peterson on April 18 1964 and lived in Worthington their entire lives. Ron worked at Campbell’s Soup for most of his life and was also a lifer in the Army National Guard
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and working with his dogs. But for those that really knew Ron, his major passion in life was to debate! Pick any topic you like and off you would go debating. At times it could get quite animated, but it was always in good fun.

Cases in nursing homes across the country have dropped tremendously over the last few months after peaking the week of December 20, 2020
, when there were more than 30,000 new cases, according to data from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

, the organizations say COVID-19 cases among nursing home staff fell 83 percent, from 28,802 to 4,746. New COVID-19 infections among residents fell even more, going from 89 percent to 58 percent in the general public.
