MANSEHRAN: The prolonged and unscheduled power outages of around 16 hours a day has affected the businesses and daily life in the city and its suburbs.
“Our businesses, which have already been reeling because of the effects of the coronavirus, are now totally smashed owing to the prolonged power outages. We would come onto the streets and observe a complete shutter down strike if the load shedding continues,” Sheikh Kamran, the president of the trader’s body, told reporters on Tuesday.
Kamran said that traders at a meeting decided to stage a protest and block the main Abbottabad road to traffic on July 16.

Hospital forms three-member committee to investigate matter

A 30-year-old man died allegedly due to the administration of a wrong injection by the doctors at the emergency department of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Monday.
The hospital administration has formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter. According to the relatives, Sheikh Kamran had suffered an injury in an accident. Doctors had stitched the wound and dressed it, they said adding that it was nothing serious and Kamran was absolutely healthy. He went to the DHQ Hospital on Monday to get the stitches removed, the relatives said, adding that the doctors administered him a wrong injection which proved fatal.
Court allows Mansehra traders to hold elections

MANSEHRA: The Abbottabad circuit bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has set aside the ruling of the Labour Court Haripur and allowed the Mansehra traders to hold their elections.
After hearing counsels, Justice Ibrahim Khan set aside the Labour Court Haripur’s order which was announced on October 12, 2020.The judge in his ruling said that the revision petition against the impugned order passed by the presiding officer labour court Haripur was against the law and norms of the justice and was liable to be set aside.The petitioners in the case traders, Fayyaz Solaria and Sheikh Kamran told reporters that traders had been deprived of their legal right of electing the representatives.

45-year-old worker fell into hot water pool while working at sugar mill

A chemical department employee of a sugar mill in Tandlianwala was killed after falling into a hot water pool during work on Friday.
Authorities handed over the body to his heirs after initial proceedings. Reportedly, 45-year-old Munir Ahmed, son of Abdullah, and a resident of Chak No 447GB, Sammundri, was an employee in the chemical department of a local sugar mill in Tandlianwala tehsil. During work, he fell into a hot water pool and died due to burn injuries. The mill management handed over the body of the deceased to the heirs. Causalities due to accidents owing to poor working environment and lack of safety measures have been reported frequently in the province.
