PLYMOUTH – Moments after the Select Board reorganized, member Shelagh Joyce promptly resigned. The announcement came just after Dick Quintal was elected chair and Betty Cavacco was elected vice chair. Joyce had the lone dissenting votes on both nominations.
The meeting opened with Quintal welcoming Harry Helm as the newest Select Board member. He had defeated previous Chair Ken Tavares for the lone seat on the board in Saturday’s Town Elections. Then the reorganization took place, followed by a statement by Helm about his joining the Select Board.
“I would like to echo what Mr. Quintal said after his election as chair,” Helm said. “I want to see a unified Select Board working together for the people of Plymouth. They deserve that.”
