Faith Maternity Care (FMC) exists to serve women who choose to carry their babies to full-term, by providing a home for expectant mothers, along with community client services for moms who already have a place to call home. Fulton s Court Street was abuzz last Saturday with a joy-filled event at The Brick District Playhouse. St. Mark s Episcopal Church of Portland, MO hosted their inaugural A Celebration of JOY event. Approximately ninety people registered for the full-day event that focused on joy, with monetary and gift donations collected to benefit FMC. Faith Maternity s new outreach coordinator Rebecca Luntsford, along with executive director Shelley Knight, were greeted with brightly colored streamers and given fabulous swag bags. The swag bags contained our very own FMC sports bottle, a limited-edition event t-shirt, and other goodies. Shelley and Rebecca received warm hugs from Reverend Jessica, Melissa Leisinger, and Michala Dillon. The day was filled with sessions of worship,

A huge part of our impact is our phenomenal staff. In our last column, we introduced you to program director Sarah Cowans-Holt. Sarah has been married to Pastor Lawrence Holt for nineteen years, and their blended family is comprised of seven children and fifteen grandchildren. Pastor Lawrence and Sarah serve at Second Baptist Church in Salisbury, Missouri. Sarah obtained both her bachelor s and master s degree in social work, with an emphasis in medical, relating to drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and mental health. Sarah has twenty-three years of experience working with adults in mental health and developmental disabilities, and she has managed staff and clients in both independent living homes and hospital settings. Though it has been a few months, Mother s Day was the launch day of our annual Baby Bottle Fundraiser. We love to kick this off with a praise and prayer gathering at the flagpole in the front yard of our home, sharing snacks as we visit together. Shelley wasn t sure what felt more special this year: the prayer circle where each person offered a wish and a prayer for healing and recovery for our moms or meeting the partner pastors and community leaders and watching them network together, sharing encouragement, and being a light in the community for our mothers and their babies. Baby bottles were distributed to local churches, organizations, and individuals within the counties we serve. Donors filled a baby bottle with spare change, cash, and checks. Our excitement in
