WOODSTOCK — To cheers and applause during its bi-monthly meeting, the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of the former Valley Health fitness center in Woodstock for $2.9
Currently, the shelter has just 10 dogs and six cats. The shelter is much smaller than those in neighboring counties with a capacity for just 32 dogs and 27 cats, it also has to leave a handful of dog cages open for any dogs that may be brought in by animal control.

Tigeress, a 10-month-old spayed female tabby/white domestic shorthair kitten, is available for adoption at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Road, Edinburg. The shelter is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Information: 540-984-8955.

Elaine Faucher, a long-time member of the Front Royal Womenâs Resource Center and resident of Warren County, has donated a collection of âTiffanyâ trees made from vintage jewelry to support the centerâs programs and annual grants.
