The Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team responds to all water related emergencies within Douglas County. The team is often called upon to assist with search and recovery operations in other counties in west central Minnesota as well.
In many of these calls, the exact location of the drowning victim or evidence item is unknown and team members must conduct detailed searches. In January, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office purchased a Deep Trekker DTG 3 underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). Our Dive Rescue Team will use this underwater vehicle to help with search operations for drowning victims and evidence.
