Investigators suspect the remains were intended for use in “the educational and research field,” but they’re treating the gruesome case as a homicide “until proven otherwise,” the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The first set of body parts was found Saturday afternoon in a remote area outside Prescott, about 100 miles north of Phoenix. Additional remains were found the next morning in a wooded area northwest of Prescott, according to the release.
