FCC Angkor by Avani – in collaboration with two civil society organisations working in the Tonle Sap Lake area – organised a three-day exhibition about people’s life along the lake and conjoined river, including the area’s pervasive pollution by plastic waste.

More than 400 residents and local authorities in Siem Reap province dedicated two days to collecting plastic waste in the Chong Kneas community, while about 100 volunteer training groups continued training almost 700 families to prepare them for cleaning up the shorelines of the Tonle Sap Lake once the waters descended.

The NGO2 Bamboo Shoot Foundation in cooperation with the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA) launched an environmental clean-up campaign to pick up plastic waste along the Tonle Sap Lake in Siem Reap province in order to improve the beauty of the area and increase the amount of tourists visiting nearby communities.
