Channel 4 s Help actress has defeated Kate Winslet and It s a Sin s star Lydia West, while BBC s Time actor has beaten Help star Stephen Graham at this year s ceremony.
The cast of It s A Sin were branded winners by series creator Russell T Davies after the show failed to bring in any awards at this year s BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday.
Among the biggest surprises was `It`s A Sin,` the Russell T. Davies acclaimed series about the AIDS epidemic. It entered the evening with six nominations, including five in the performance category, but went empty-handed.
