The weather has gotten cooler in Minnesota but that doesn't mean Minnesotans need to stay exclusively indoors in the fall. Amy Barrett from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON. She highlights some fall activities for Minnesotans to enjoy.

Duck hunting season resumes in the central and southern zones and continues in the northern zone this Saturday. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. Glen says the cooler weather will push some ducks and geese out of Central Minnesota but more will come in from northern Minnesota and Canada.

The Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation is accepting nominations for awards recognizing the good work of first responders who serve communities in Benton, Sherburne and Stearns counties and other advocates of public safety in the great St. Cloud region.

Waite Park Police is reporting 60 gallons of fuel taken from some onsite fuel tanks on the 3000 block of 4th Street South.

Gas prices in the St. Cloud area have largely seen a rise in price over the past week. The rise in price didn't go unnoticed by St. Cloud area residents. On WJON's 2-Cent Tuesday program listeners expressed concern that the price was at $3.79 to $3.89 at some stations

Clear Lake is a town of 641 people in Sherburne County located 13 miles southeast of St. Cloud at the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 24. Waterfowl season got off a good start last weekend. That according to Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News. Glen joined me on WJON. He says based on conversations he's had with people throughout the state and conservation reports it was a better than average start to the waterfowl hunting season last weekend.

Sartell has undergone a fair amount of road construction for the past several months. County Road 1, the River Road, has been a big Sartell and Stearns County project. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON. He indicated the plan is to have this segment of County Road 1 complete by November 15th and that includes the bike path, and walking path.

The rise in interest rates has slowed home sales in the St. Cloud area. That according to Craig Erlichman from Premier Real Estate Services in St. Cloud. He explains the rise in interest rates from as low at 2% to near 7% on a 30 year fixed mortgage has created what he calls a correction to the market.
