Dr Shubham Menaria, Former Physiotherapist at NIMHANS, pointed out a case of a 25-year-old who presented with chronic low back pain. The chief complaint included being unable to sit for a longer time, which would aggravate his pain, thereby hindering his occupation as a software engineer.
The study found that 35 out of 50 patients were having neck pain, back pain, spasms, tenderness, and stress, and the students used the phone for about 8–9 hours a day. The study identified a mild disability in neck functions and an increased forward head posture in individuals who had increased weekly usage of mobile phones.
