Team Revolution organized milk distribution in Vadodara on Sunday
VADODARA: There was an interesting twist to the agitation organized by a city based group to oppose price rise. The group has been accused of violating Covid safety protocols during the programme.
The offence was registered on Sunday, but the organizers from the group ‘Team Revolution’ came to know of it only on Monday when they were called at the police station. The leader of the group Shwejal Vyas was arrested on Monday and he refused to take bail.
The group had organized the agitation on Sunday at the Jay Narayan Society in Gorwa to oppose the hike in milk prices. Earlier, it had also organized an agitation to condemn the rise in prices of petrol and diesel.
Vadodara: Activists, who have also dabbled in politics, are coming up with novel ways to protest against the spiralling prices. They are distributing the commodity whose prices rise for free. Though, that is a common practice among political parties, the activists are carrying out the protests in a way that would embarrass the ruling BJP.
The group ‘Team Revolution’ that has so far raised voices against civic issues and worked extensively during situations like floods or Covid has come up with unique agitations that are generating quite a bit of attention. The team distributed free petrol worth Rs 100 each to 310 persons. The only rider was that they had to be either BJP workers or someone who had voted for the BJP.
Vadodara: Not withstanding the shorter route and significant reduction in its scale, a heavy rush was witnessed at Shivji Ki Savari procession on Thur.
