Maharashtra on Thursday reported 61,695 fresh coronavirus cases and took the total tally to 36,39,855. On the other hand, 349 people succumbed in the past 24 hours and the death toll reached 59,153. There are 6,20,060 active cases in the state.Meanwhile, with 8,217 new cases in Mumbai reported on Thursday, the total number of cases reached 5,53,159. However, 49 more Mumbaikars lost their life due to the COVID-19 virus.Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressing the need for medical oxygen in the state for COVID treatment.
