24th May 2021 11th Hour Racing Team sailing in Concarneau, France in the lead-up to the start of The Ocean Race Europe Credit: Amory Ross/11th Hour Racing International ocean racing teams from around the world are assembling in Lorient, France this week ahead of the start of the inaugural edition of The Ocean Race Europe this Saturday 29 May. Designed to showcase professional, fully-crewed offshore racing, the new European multi-stage race has attracted a top-tier entry of 12 teams representing nine countries. The race is open to two classes of high-performance ocean-going racing yachts: the 65-foot one-design VO65 and the 60-foot development rule IMOCA 60. Both classes of boat are capable of high speeds and in the right conditions can cover 600 nautical miles or more in 24-hours.
