Amarillo City Services To Return To Normal Next Week (Hopefully)
City of Amarillo services resume normal operations Monday February 22. The city closed many offices this week to aid in the effort to conserve the Amarillo area’s energy supply during the recent dangerous winter weather.
Other City facilities resuming normal operations Monday include the Charles E. Warford Activity Center, all Amarillo Public libraries and the Simms Municipal Building. Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare will also re-open.
The Amarillo Public Health Department COVID-19 walk-in vaccination clinic at the Amarillo Civic Center will operate under normal conditions beginning Monday with vaccinations available for individuals in groups 1A and 1B and those scheduled to receive second doses. AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The City of Amarillo will resume normal operations Monday after closing this week in order to help conserve energy.
The Amarillo Public Health Department’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Amarillo Civic Center will open at normal times on Monday. You can see the clinic’s schedule and vaccine availability
The COVID-19 Drive Thru Testing Center will also reopen Monday, Feb. 22.

Due to the ongoing inclement winter weather situation affecting the region and the state s energy supply, the city of Amarillo s public health department will not release a COVID-19 report card Thursday or Friday with non-essential city facilities remaining closed through the end of the week.
According to previous Globe-News reports, the city joined the efforts of Potter County, Randall County and the city of Canyon to close non-essential offices the rest of the week to help conserve energy.
