The JFK Arboretum has been included in The Office of Public Works (OPW) interactive programme of over 80 events nationwide for this year’s National Heritage Week, which runs from Saturday, August 12 to Sunday 20 August. Taking place at more than 70 OPW historic sites around the country. the OPW’s programme of events features more than 80 workshops, talks, tours, demonstrations, and experiences celebrating Ireland’s natural, built, and cultural heritage.

In the wake of two cocaine seizures at Rosslare Europort worth an estimated €20m, one local councillor has called for investigations into the “unexplained wealth” of certain members of our local communities. A woman has drowned after getting into difficulty while swimming in Bannow Bay this morning. Gardaí confirmed that the woman, who had been swimming at the far end of the bay near the church, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After 25 years of service Dr John Cox has retired from his role as volunteer lifeboat medical advisor with Fethard RNLI. To honour his time with the organisation, lifeboat crew and management at Fethard RNLI gathered last week to pay tribute to Dr Cox at the station last week.
