With record temperatures being recorded across the globe the government has announced it will invest “close to half a billion euro” into Rosslare Europort as part of concerted plans to reduce carbon emissions across the country. In an era when the focus is always on the future, when our thoughts are always on the next big thing, a group of people from in and around the Forth Mountain area have been turning the clock back, working to recreate the past, reviving traditions almost lost from history. Since 2019 this group of volunteers, led by skilled artisan Pat Hickey, have been slowly restoring an old cottage on the mountain, a homestead which was once the centre of all life in a small but tight-knit community.

Held in appreciation of customers past, present and future, the K & K Windows open day was also an opportunity for the local community to come together for some fun and entertainment. Featuring an outside broadcast by South East Radio presenter Alan Corcorcan, refreshments and nibbles, and a bouncy castle for the younger visitors, the open day allowed people to take a walk through K & K’s state-of-the-art showroom and browse its extensive catalogue of windows and doors.

The Wexford Festival of Running committee has presented a cheque of €3,347 to Down Syndrome Wexford, proceeds from its successful event in Johnstown Castle in May.
